Objectives

  • Conduct research on Kashmir Conflict, Socio-economic development of AJK and IOJK, institutional reforms, policies of the Govt. and their impacts, development in regional and international politics and other related issues.
  • Interaction with think tanks, Universities and Research Institutes and lobbying with public figures, scholars and human rights activists
  • Liaison and coordination with UN mechanisms, treaty bodies and INGOs
  • To organize seminars, conferences, internship programs, summer schools, lectures, roundtables and workshops on various aspects of the Kashmir conflict and the socio-economic development of the State.
  • To train scholars, academicians and students on international human rights, international humanitarian law, conflict resolution, social media and advocacy.
  • To develop the analytical skills of young scholars and students to enhance their understanding of the conflict and various approaches for its peaceful resolution.
  • Publication of a Research Journal.
  • Publishing of books, booklets, reports, research etc
  • Formulation of policies and strategies for publicity and projection of Kashmir conflict at national and international level.
  • Promotion of ideological basis of Kashmir conflict.
  • To highlight human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
  • To pursue the right to self-determination for Kashmiris as per UN resolutions and international covenants.
  • To debate and evolve policies for a convincing persuasion of the Kashmir conflict by the Government of Pakistan and AJK Government.
  • To develop intellectual discourse on the political history of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Promotion of objective research and active advocacy for peaceful resolution of Kashmir conflict.
  • Publish reports, research papers, monographs and other research material.
  • To prepare research-based reports on violations of International Humanitarian Law(IHL) and Human Rights instruments in IOK.
  • Coordinate, collaborate and sign MoU’s with different think tanks, universities and organizations.
  • To prepare a comprehensive and authentic databank encompassing information on political, historical, cultural, social, economic, literary and liberation movement aspects of J&K, that can be confidently used by the general public, national and international media as well as researchers; and Organize workshops for members of the Legislative Assembly Azad Jammu and Kashmir on the Kashmir Conflict.
